General Notes: Salvador Castelino (also called Salope Castelino) is the earliest known member of the Makhale Castelino family. He was a captive in Seringapatam at the time Tippu Sultan. In 1799 Salope Castelino returned from captivity and settled in Makhale (Cordel Parish). He married a (young) widow Maria and they had 12 children.
Salvador married Maria D'SILVA in Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. Maria was born circa 1780 in Cordel, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India.
