The following year she married Henry Pais, who was in the revenue service in New Delhi, eventually becoming the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. During their posting in Delhi, Jessie was on the staff of Lady Harding College as Professor of Anatomy, a position she held until 1964 when they moved to Bangalore. Here she joined the newly founded St. John's Medical College where she served as Professor in Anatomy until she retired.
