General Notes: Joseph Monteiro is the earliest known member of one branch of the Kirem Monteiro family. Kiram is an agricultural region just north of Mangalore. Joseph had only one son Salvador who settled in Shimoga so the family is also referred to as the Shimoga Monteiros.
Joseph married Magdalen COELHO. Magdalen was born circa 1785.
Children from this marriage were:
+ 2 i. Regina MONTEIRO was born in 1808.
+ 3 ii. Salvador MONTEIRO was born in 1810.
